About Us
Just like the Kargha which stands for a hand loom used to hold and interweave yarn into exotic fabrics,
DigiKargha aims to connect artisans, weavers and designers to celebrate the
weaves rich in wisdom and tradition through digital empowerment. Our aim is to safeguard the interest of artisan and bridge the gap between the global market and the rural artisans by digitally enabling the Artisan DigiPreneurs to reach out to customers in a direct, easy and secure way. Most of all, we invite you to hear their stories interwoven with their passion, creativity and love…because each story is unique just as the creations that are produced from their ‘kargha’ with a generous dose of TLC.
Trust. Live. Craft.
Established as a not-for-profit Section 8 company in 2017 to lead Digital Empowerment Foundation’s efforts in the handicraft and handloom clusters towards maturity, DigiKargha bridges the gap between the producers and the consumers to celebrate the glorious textiles legacy our country. Digikargha also supports mainstream designers’ demand for fabrics at the cluster level, which provide an additional source of income to the artisans and gives them the exposure to new age market demands. Until today we have catered to thousands of customers and have impacted 50,000 artisans through our sustainable and slow fashion philosophy.
